Job Summary:
The U.S. Open Mid-Term Operations Intern is responsible for assisting Pebble Beach Company and the United States Golf Association with the operations of the 2019 U.S. Open Championship, including advance planning and set-up, Championship week responsibilities and post-Championship breakdown. This person must take the lead as point person for specific vendors and oversee their progress during the facility construction and tear-down while also effectively delegating tasks throughout an operations crew. Intern dates: 4/15/2019 - 7/1/2019.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Assist Pebble Beach Company and USGA staff in the preparation and set-up of on-site facilities (e.g., corporate hospitality, media center, vendor compounds, volunteer village, office trailers, carpentry, fence meshing, landscaping, and painting).
Coordinate the inventory and distribution of operational equipment (chairs, furniture, office equipment, tables, water coolers, etc.).
Work with Pebble Beach Company and USGA staff with administrative office support.
Ensures a neat, clean, and safe work environment by cleaning work areas and discarding materials in the proper manner.
Compliance with all Pebble Beach Company safety and operations policies, procedures, and practices.
Assist other Pebble Beach Company and U.S. Open departments with support, as necessary.
Required Skills:
College degree and/or currently pursuing a college or graduate degree.
Good interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to effectively express ideas and interact with a wide array of individuals in an exemplary manner consistent with Pebble Beach Company values.
Ability to think logically and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously.
Exceptional organizational skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook.
Ability to work well under pressure and assume full responsibility for projects.
Ability to read and interpret manuals, diagrams, and schematics with a strong attention to all details of a project.
Ability to lift heavy items (chairs, copiers, coolers, tables, etc.).
Ability to work holidays and weekends.
Valid drivers license.
Desired Skills:
Past experience in golf tournament operations preferred.
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for long periods of time and move frequently from area to area. Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, and reach with hands and arms. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move over 50 pounds.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
