Summary:
The Catering Manager is responsible for selling and servicing events in all resort venues.
You must maintain a friendly, composed, caring and professional relationship with clients and the community while producing revenues that help the team reach departmental budgets and goals.
Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:
Sell and service weddings and social events Take phone inquiries and walk-ins by potential clientsReturn inquiry calls and leads by end of day and ensure proper follow upResearch and confirm availability of hotel facilitiesKnow current hotel products, procedures, policies and pricesPrepare wedding and local/social contracts following PBC guidelinesPlan and arrange events in detail from initial booking to menu tasting, d cor detailing, final guarantee and billingDetermine requirements, including audio visual needs, photography, entertainment, floral, transportation, golf, spa, etc.
Coordinate all hotel services for events as requestedBe present for coordination of all ceremonies and events Participate in sales activities as requested by Resort Director of Catering & Conference Services and Director of Catering Stay abreast of trends and maintain an innovative approachProvide facility tours and site inspections for clients and potential clientsUp-sell hotel's services when possible and appropriateEnsure word of mouth referrals through successful events and relationships Maintain a composed, friendly and professional demeanorCommunicate in a clear and effective mannerContribute to building a positive team spiritExemplify the highest standards of honest, ethical business behaviorManage time efficientlyComply with Pebble Beach Company safety and health policies and proceduresMaintain a calendar of upcoming groups and important deadlinesMeet annual wedding sales goalCustomize and personalize every eventUnderstand your role in the financial success of the department and the companyHire, develop and train your assistant to further his/her career pathRequired Skills:
